• Boy, you should have seen me when I was going through all the legal problems with my ex-wife!

  I couldn't STAND to watch anything remotely related to Soap Operas or shows that graphically protrayed people cheating on other people. I used to yell at my TV!

  My roommate at the time, in the barracks I lived in while I was in the Navy, once told me after I blew up at the TV: "Man, I've never even met your wife, and already I hate her guts!"

• I had the help of my kid's Godmother and Godfather (my Compadre's) and a few other friends who helped me thorough this phase. I went out to a LOT of activities with my kid's Godmother and her lady friends, who helped me overcome my distrust in women in general.

  Bless them all: they all knew people who did some of the things my wife did (they were mostly Navy wives themselves) and sympathized a lot.
  .
  I can't tell you how many Pampered Chef, Tupperware, and Avon parties I went to with them!
  .
  I remember going to a movie with all of them once and counting how many ladies there were! My kid's godmother asked me what I was doing, and I told her; "Now I can tell all the guys that I've been out with 18 women at once!" She laughed!

  I flirted with nearly EVERY woman I encountered, because it was a safe thing to do and built up my confidence! I didn't have to ask anyone out that way. Bank tellers, waitresses, clerks, whatever! I figured every woman likes to be complimented about something personal, whether it was her hair, her ear rings, her outfit, or whatever. I used to make roses out of napkins and give them out!

  In fact, flirting is how I met my wife...that and the fact that her co-workers hooked us up when they found out she liked me. But that's another story!

• And don't worry about the "slightly used model" feeling. The men who are worth your time don't care about that anyway: it's the woman herself that matters.

  Do what you feel for your image and comfort, but mostly for your personal health. Yes, appearances mean a lot, but personally speaking, how a woman carries herself, how she takes care of herself, and how she feels about herself speak louder than the hyped up attention that people assign to physical appearances.
