I avoid drinking liquids of any sort while exercising.
The primary purpose of my exercise is to sweat as much as possible and put a stop to further weight gain.
I do drink a glass or two of plain water some half hour after I finish my morning walk and exercise, after all the sweat has evoporated.
I am not sure if what I am doing is the scientific way of doing things, but I know it works for me.
