  • Stop telling them, it won't do any good. They have very low self image. All you can do is be a good friend!
  • They might have an idea in their head of what they want to look like, how they want to be, etc., before they will feel good about themselves. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. If they get rid of that idea and think they are just fine then they don't have motivation to change anymore (and this could be doing them a disservice).
  • Your intentions are really kind but the more you tell them about how great their personality is, the worse they'll probably feel about their weight. Like Bluemuun said, continue to be a good friend but don't raise the issue unless they do.
  • They have low self esteem and it isn't your place to booster it. Next time they say they are not pretty or complain about their weight just say to them ok well why not do something about it then? Maybe suggest helping them if you wish to. I am over weight myself but I know I am solely responsibly for that and that it is my problem to work on, no one else's. I would think it would become tiresome to continually be boosting a friends ego.
