You can't. It has to be wiped and repaved. Sorry. And caution: make sure you have drivers for your specific hardware for XP. Some new hardware that shipped with Vista cannot work with XP at all.

"Zero" - that is wipe the drive and install XP from CD. (assuming that you're doing a standard retail-style installation) However, I'm running Windows 7 Release Candidate 1 and it fixes a LOT of the problems with Vista. In fact, the 32-bit version kicks arse! AND you can upgrade from Vista to Windows 7. Here's the link http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/Windows-7/download.aspx
