Uhm, you might have to see a lawyer. If you know the man's name it might help. You shouldn't technically be married if you don't have a valid marriage certificate, though. What the the pastor or priest presiding have to say about this?

You need to contact a lawyer.

I don't think so, because your marriege was not legal since he was legally married to someone else. I'm sorry about that, that's pretty bad.

You really should see a lawyer. Most will give one free consultation. At least that will give you a place to start. Even though you didn't sign a marriage certificate, it doesn't mean there isn't one & that he didn't sign it for you. You should take care of this pretty soon.

G'day Beckah, Thank you for your question. You should speak to a lawyer in Tennessee but if you haven't received a certificate, you may not have been married. If he was married to someone else, you can claim an annulment on the grounds of bigamy. You would only need a divorce if you were legally married which it sounds that you weren't. I would check with the Tennessee Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages or equivalent to see if they have any record of a marriage certificate for yourself and whether the guy was married to someone else then I'd make an appointment with a lawyer. I have attached sources for your reference.
