The so-called women's liberation movement has given women the same opportunities as men in the schools and work force, which, in turn, has given women better opportunities to obtain more money, and, thus, be more financially independent than their past counterparts, who, basically, were house drudges earning no pay, and, thus, did not make monetary contributions for themselves and, if applicable, their family.
I'm not so sure about this one... Myself, and many women I know, seem to have a bigger burden since the women's movement. Now women have full time jobs on top of taking care of kids and house. Its really twice the work and the men in our lives haven't picked up any household responsibilties. In a way I'd have to say the women's movement has helped men who no longer are expected to be sole providers for their families.
In the U.S. women have felt they were insulted with their traditional roles in every day american life. Today in the U.S. women not only have equal rights, they have all the previous rights they always had from the beginning. They want men to hold the door for them as they clean out the man's house or appartment during a divorse. It seems that "equal rights" means one thing for men, and an entire different thing for women. Women have special rights so it seems. As long as more women vote than do men, our law makers will continue to create laws that allow women completely dominate financially during and after divorses. For a man to get custody of his own children he practically has to prove his wife was a serial killer. All one has to do is look at the statistics. It's all there.
