There are a lot of sins in the bible that are ignored by modern society, like gluttony, but you dont see Christians holding signs that say "GOD HATES FATTYS". out of all the 'sins' to get upset about why homosexualty?

Well, most are going to pick a sin they aren't currently committing if they want to demonize something. How about the one that says, "Judge not!"?

You are correct in that there are many "sins" described in the Bible that a lot of folks don't consider a sin any longer...or they ignore them. It seems there are a lot of folks who pick and choose what they want to believe in the Bible, and/or they like to use the Bible to justify bigotry.

It is because the other ''sins'' are common whereas homosexuality only about 1 in 16 people are homosexual. Minorities can be picked on easily. If Christians were expected to true to every word of the Bible or be condemned by the church for it, the religion would fragment and die out. I think the other reason is because there are a lot of closet homosexuals with high positions in the Churches.

That is a very good point but it is so much more easy to pick out certain sins they feel are MORE extreme than others in their opinion. Its definately not right but people love to make themselves feel better by saying your sin is worse than mine or they will claim to be "a good christian" and that gives them the feeling of them being able to pick on anyone but gay people get the worst of it. My grandma is what alot of people would call a Holy Roller and I am what my Dad calls a Rainbow Warrior, she is really religious and I am a lesbian... she raised me but she still hasn't heard that I am a lesbian from me so she is in denail. Because how could she raise such a sinner? I think people just need to worry about themselves and be good people instead of degrating them and trying to make them feel bad about who they are. I know I hate it when my grandma talks crap about gay people... it makes my blood boil, but what can I do? She feels that she has the right to talk bad about gay people and be homophobic.

i agree. its a sin to cut your hair and shave but people are running out to the barber to get the hottest styles. why dont we condemn that? im gay. i was raised in the church and i love God. but i dont love how people have interpreted his word. they make him sound like a horrible god, but he isnt... i dont think that god hates anyone. he wouldnt have had jesus come and teach us to love everyone if he didnt believe it himself...
