  • monkey see monkey do until one sees the error in another... I panic even worse to point out how pointless panic is compared to rational corrective actions.
  • calmly, and repetively try to convince them that you will help them, and reassure them that they are ok.++
  • I don't know if it works for everyone; or for that matter I don't know if other people have even tried it, but when I was young one of my sisters used to have panic attacks (we didn't know what they were at the time) and I would hug her to make her feel better. It would always work. I think it made her feel calm and secure or something. She's my older sister and will still call me sometimes if she feels like she's on the verge of one!
  • I find a nice light tasering does the trick.
  • First thing you should do is get a paper bag and have them hold it over their mouth and nose and breathe into it. It then depends on what form the panic attack is taking. I used to suffer from panic attacks and was sure I was going to suffocate. I would go outside and run around for a couple of minutes. The thing is to try and get their mind focused on something other than themselves and what they are thinking. So do what you can to distract them.
  • Tell them that they're not going to die, talk to them, rub their arm, make them feel at ease as much as you can, get them in a comfortable position and slowly talk them out of it by making them focus on something entirely different. Dont talk about yourself, but talk about something that will really make them think. Get them a drink of water. Basically any calming routine or something that will soothe them.
