  • That often carry the rabies.
  • i saw bats today at work!!!i loved watching them!! flying mice is good comparison +5
  • I'm not bothered by them; a lot of it is stigma I think but the fact that they are large, flying mice is enough reason for many along with the fear of rabies and the possibility of getting one tangled in one's hair.
  • Mice are scary and ones that you don't get to see very often except when they fly past you brushing your face are freaky. Bats are dusty and associated with dark places and vampires in movies which are the only place people really get to form an impression of them. People generally fear the unknown. I like bats, but then again we had a lot living near us while I was growing up so I got used to them, also I went to the zoo and they had one of those bat caves where there were 100's of them flying about and that demystified them for me.
  • That's enough reason for me;)
  • Because of the way they look. Just like people are scared of mice.
  • Beats me how ANYBODY could be afraid of anything which can be utterly destroyed with a badminton racket... :):)
  • People think they bite and can get tangled in hair and all that stuff......but they don't and their no where near being related to rodents.....
