  • I agree, there are no answers in the bible. I read the bible when I am high with my friends for some laughs.
  • a book that was written by men and misquoted/misinterpreted by many
  • Haha! =) I've never read the whole thing. Its just a book written by some men about a God that doesn't exist IMO.
  • Boring.
  • It's a book of wisdom that answers life's deepest questions and offers a hope through every situation.
  • Its my guidline. When Im sad it tells me to rise above it, overcome my doubts and fears...to love my neighbors as myself. It shows me that givin is worth much more than recieving. It tells me to not be discontent with what I have...but enjoy what I have while I have it... It reminds me not to run after material items such as cars, cloths, and jewels...becuase in the long run they all become old...but to work on patience, virtue, honesty, integrity....It reminds me to be calm, and collective and to seek my inner peace through prayer...YET be angry...When I see somebody doing something wrong, and remind them...what is truely right. It tells me to help others, and lead them to the light...to open their eyes, and show them the way. ITs a book that is perfectly written, with hidden details...with mystery...but yet can be solved. Its a great story of good verses Evil...and how evil will never win! Its full of love, and desire...and hate, and crime. YET nothing...remind you, nothing...goes unseen...or unpunished. Its a guidline...to live in freedom, and a warning from sin = being bound. It shows a person how to live open...and free...and to not hide things from within...for in reality it only hurts. It tells us our parts...and our places, to be hard workers...and lovers, and friends...To love the children, and hate the ones out to hurt them. It reminds us to be clean and sober...and quick in action. It is....my ultimate book, and it has been there to answer my questions when no other could.
  • Fictionalized historical stories. Most of the places, some of the people and a select few events are historical accepted as facts. The rest is standard issue fairy tale, myth and fiction. For the most part, it's not terribly well written, either. Let the DR's roll... +5
  • are you here for opinions? heres some facts...Its not one book, its a collection of 66 books written by fishermen and kings over a 3000 year period. two thousnd years after the last book was written it's still changing lives and stirring contreversy. It's the number one best seller, but its the least read and the least understood. Even though it makes perfect sence. A child can understand it, and yet a theologin can drown in it. And an athiest can waist there time trying to discredit it, but its not going to happen.
  • The word of God, so far as it is translated correctly.
  • An interesting, and heavily edited, 'Sacred Scripture'. Much of what we call the "Bible" was left on the cutting room floor, after the Council of Nicaea- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Council_of_Nicaea It is often referred to, to justify what folks have intended to do all along. A sort of Post Hoc argument to justify heinous acts. I find it's usage to be Evil. http://www.evilbible.com/about_evil_bible.htm Many folks have chosen to worship a book as opposed to worshipping their God. http://www.qrd.org/qrd/religion/judeochristian/protestantism/xian.test
  • 2 Timothy 3:16,17 is my opinion of the Bible... I recognize that people are devoted to it, much like other people are devoted to their religious books or relics... I agree with what was said earlier about people worshipping a book rather than their god... The Bible talks about how we should live now, and gives hope for the future... It gives an answer (whether you think it is right or wrong, it still is an answer to the question) to why we are here -- Revelation 4:11... I believe that many men have twisted and distorted it... Of course, I belive that began with Satan in the garden when he said, Yeah hath God said... I do believe that children can understand it (2 Timothy 3:15 & Luke 18:16) and we can still continue to learn from it today...
  • In my opinion, it is the word of God. In reference to your link, it is histerical. lol
  • it also is confirmed every time some scoffer mocks it or mocks God or a Christian. John 15:18, I John 3:13 There is a power of the air that is against God and His people. Thats why Christianity will have the most corruption and the most persicution. John 1 tells how God created the world but the world knew him not, (you see the world is fallen) he made Himself know to us through Jesus Christ, but we killed Him. He rose rom the dead and forgave us. But we'd kill Him again if we could. The world hates him just like He said they would. thats why every time I put a truth from the bible up here there is always haters.
  • ninja - To begin with, the examples I listed - alking snakes and shrubbery, people who turn into salt or walk on water etc. Then, the 2 different order of creation mentioned in Genesis all the way to the different dates reported for the Crucification. As for prophesy - so it said there would be an Israel. There has been a Zionist movement of some kind - due to that prophesy - on and off for much of those 2000 years. That's a self fulfilling prophesy. But what about other aspects of prophesy? Jesus's pals all thought he'd come back within their lifetimes - and so his followers have thought ever since. 2000 years of continuous disappointment - yet each generation is convinced they are the ones.
