Three things: 1) The bill is being opposed by 37 states. 2) It does not have enough votes to pas the House, much less the Senate. 3) The Federal Government can't do anything on that scale by May 2008.

I have one better than this. did you know that the police cannot now issue traffic citattions to illegal immigrants, if they have a drivers license from their country? Where's the logic and safey in this? just because they have a drivers license from their home country, does not mean they know the rules of the road in the united states. Also, most police officers would not be able to read a drivers license in chinese or spanish. the police may being stopping a wanted criminal and never know it. Just another feather in the cap of illegal immigrants. What's happening to america??

Yes, I find that fact disturbing. I at first thought it was like the proverbial black helicopters and other urban legends. There are other plans, like injecting an ID chip into every citizens' bodies so we don't have to carry a credit card, cash or identification. The implications of any of these are enormous. What will we do about these kinds of actions?
