    Wisdom.

    I once read this and- forgive me, I don't remember who said it...but it said:

    'Knowledge is not wisdom; you may know how to pick a lock, or steal a car, but it would be wiser to do neither.'

    :)

    Wisdom is not finally tested in the schools,
    Wisdom cannot be passed from one having it
    to another not having it,
    Wisdom is of the soul, is not susceptible of proof
    it is its own proof. Walt Whitman.

    Knowledge is of two kinds. We know a subject ourselves or we know where we can find information upon it.Samuel Johnson

    I'd go with wisdom. Almost anyone can learn something and gain knowledge. It's how you impart that knowledge which is what is important and that is what I refer to as wisdom.

    hiya,

    i think the answer to this is ...
    knowledge is an accumalation of the memory you have built up through the years.and wisdom is the lessons that you have learned.

    hows that?.

    Let me see if I get through. Knowledge is the tool that leads you to wisdom, but knowledge is not wisdom. You can gain knowledge, not wisdom. Knowledge puts us in the way of wisdom. Wisdom is to be experienced; it is present in you and knowledge helps you to discover it. Wisdom is the treasure which Knowledge helps you to dig out.

    APPLICATION vs THEORETICAL
    Knowledge = data.
    Wisdom = applied knowledge. Integrated facts, data and experience to produce a superior idea.

    Knowledge is but the messenger that calls you to wisdom, but it is not wisdom. One can gain knowledge, but one does not seek wisdom - one meets it when one often least expects it and recognizes it as kindred. Knowledge puts us in the way of wisdom, but wisdom is experiential; it is a truth one recognizes in the external world that already resides in the internal one. One cannot *learn* wisdom - one must awaken it.

    Knowledge is an accumulation of past information. Wisdom is how the person is applying it in the present. Thus when one thinks, one is in a potential transference to the past. Wisdom implies that one is using experience to master the moment. Michael Rebel LMHC

    Knowledge can be taught, but not wisdom there
    must be freedom from knowledge for the coming of wisdom.

    the perception of seeing the fact as a fact and not as an abstraction or idea...to see the truth in the false is wisdom which also is the higest form of intelligence.

    Knowledge is gained through education, experience, and discovery. Wisdom is the lessons and understand you extract from that knowledge. A great quote that articulates this is from Jurassic Park.

    "Your scientists spent so much time figuring out if they could, they never stopped to wonder if they SHOULD!"

    To me, the difference is this:

    Knowledge is knowing things like facts and information. It is what you know.

    Now, wisdom can be better at times. I see wisdom as:

    Using the knowledge you have to an advantage to yourself or others. You get wisdom through age, what is the right thing to do as opposed to the wrong. It shows more in age, because you have seen the world for a longer time, and understand more about it.

    You accumulate both through age.

    Knowledge is that body of distorted realities and beliefs held by individuals or group of individuals as facts that may change with time, for example the theory of evolution; however, wisdom is one of the gifts of the Spirit (1st Corinthians 2:14); it's spiritually discerned and cannot therefore be taught or learnt;
    for example - wisdom tell us that our global economy needs to be fuelled by our sweat - yet knowledge claims the best way out of the present credit crunch is yet more credit - and that is why - only a fool says in his or her heart that there is no God.

    the difference between the two is what you feel. if you think that knowledge means you're intelligent then that's what it means to you. if you think that wisdom means being wise beyond years of life that what means to you. so it really is all up to you and what you think. you are the future of the world.

    Knowledge mainly focuses on the What and How while wisdom seeks to answer the Why

    Knowledge helps us distinguish between the right and wrong while wisdom helps us understand the difference between the good and bad
