I only cook from scratch on the weekends. During the week, while working, I either through something in the microwave or get take-out.

Friday night is usually either 'take away' or easy meal like just pop in the oven type. I cook from scratch all week so fridays are my night off from the kitchen. I love fridays! :)

If I cook, I always cook from scratch. Tonight I'm making something simple. I'm making Chicken Long Rice. Usually takes about 1 1/2 hours to cook.

  • Cooking from "scratch" always seems like a waste of time. I admit to being one who likes to "pop" it in the microwave. Occasionally I'll make pasta or fried chicken. . .but I admit to hating to COOK !

I always cook from scratch. I just love cooking! I even ran my own barrestaurant for three years which was hard work but you just get so much pleasure out of seeing so many people enjoy what you have created.

And now I have kids which is a whole new challenge!

A ready made, homecooked dinner of chicken and dumplings, with mashed potatoes, salad and green beans. Aunt Margaret made the chicken and dumplings for me to bring home. DELICIOUS! That beautiful lady can cook...she's 86.

I don't get home from work until 7, so I usually just pop something in the microwave.

From scratch tonight. Pot roast, potatoes, carrots, gravy. I just need to decide if I will make cornbread or buttermilk biscuits to go with it.
