  • I'm a Christian and I'm not against it.
  • Because they base their life around the Bible, from that long ago in the 21st century. It's really stopped the human right to get married to whoever you damn well want.
  • because in the book of romans it says that homosexuality is an abomination and christians will not support a union that is an abomination in the sight of god.
  • Because in the Bible it says marriage is between and man and woman...
  • the bible says it is unnatural for same sex mairrage to occur, but to be gay, is not a sin. its to practice homosexuality because to Christians, sex before mairrage is a sin, and since it is unnatural, according to the bible, for gays to be married, same sex is always a sin. disclamer: im not against gay mairrage
  • I don't know. I'm not, but I'm not gay.
  • Because their desert book tells them to be against it.
  • Because they are narrowminded and uptight.
  • Cause God said it is an abomination.1Corinthians 6:9-12 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the Kingdom of God?Be not decieved:neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminante(Gay),nor abusers of themselves with man kind.None shall inherit the kingdom of God,so if you want to be saved you have to repent of those sins(Turn From)you cannot practice or be defined by those sins. There are more in verse 11,12.
  • Cause they wanna keep the birthrate. Recently it's really endangered, cause non-christian families tend to have more children. It's more of a race battle, then a religion matter, imho.
  • I am definately a Christian and I am not against same sex marriage .... The Bible says a LOT of things that just does not apply to this day and age ... and so much that it says has been MISinterrpeted from it's origional Hebrew ... 1) The Bible says that parents should KILL children who are disobiedient ... Do You ? 2) The Bible says that a woman who is RAPED should marry her rapist or be killed ... Hmmmm ? 3) The Bible says a woman should be a VIRGIN on her wedding night ? Don't think you'll find too many these days !! 4) The Bible says it is a sin to touch the skin of a dead PIG . Does that mean that all football players are headed to Hell ? There are several more of these antiqueted rules ... BUT; they just don't make common sense ... OR there are going to be MILLIONS going to hell who never thought that they would .... Speaking of "Gay" marriage .. Has anyone googled the Secret Gospel of Mark ? Chapter 10 .. between verse 34-35 .. where Jesus brought a young man back to life ... Later jesus received the young man who wore ONLY a linen cloth over his nakededness and spent the night together .....ect .... Inferring that the young man and Jesus had a sexual laison .... which is why this BOOK was kept out of the King James Bible ..... Interesting ?
  • Because a large portion of them are uptight pains in the arse.
  • Marriage is a sacrament in the Catholic church. Most Christians will tolerate equal rights, as long as it's not called "marriage". Just like some religions won't let you take their picture, because it's a "Graven Image", aka IDOL. Or Muslims requiring Women to hide their face and head - traditions and beliefs.
  • Maybe because SOME OF THEM can open their hearts but keep their minds closed? Just a thought.
  • Not all of them are. There are Christians, Jews, Muslims and atheists on both sides of the argument. Then there's Homer Simpson's dad's opinion on the topic: "I'm against it. I'm against any kind of marriage." I think he's got a point.
  • because they can't disguise, hide, deny, ignore a gay married couple in church like they can adultery, murder, addiction, molestation etc. Once the christians discover that they are missing out on a lot of money, membership and a long overdue makeover by not allowing gays in their churches, they'll "re-interpret" their bible and welcome them with open arms. But, imo, aren't they supposed to hate the sin, not the sinner? Turn the other cheek, judge not lest they are judge and all that jazz? Seems to me like they'd have no problem with it...though I still can't wrap my head around why gay men and women would even care to have a relationship with a religion that considers them banned from the church and by some denominations, outright detested.
  • The Catholic Church believes that God himself is the author of marriage and has created it for one man and one woman. The Church further teaches that being homosexual is not a sin but that all single people (heterosexual, bisexual, and homosexual) are called to celibacy. What civil governments decide to do is up to their citizens and the constitution of the country. But the Church has a commission from Jesus Christ to "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, ... teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you." In obedience to this command, the Church has been telling world governments what it believes is right and wrong since the time of the Romans. • Granted christians are against gay marriage for what they say is their interpretation of the bible. Some of them even take it in their heads that it is a good idea to drive gays out of town or kill them. Most of this is a result of the christian's ambivalent feeling towards sex. They're human and attracted to it but their religious leaders say it's a sin. Some sex acts are a sin even marriage. Repression breeds violence and violence against gays is still accepted in some branches of the faith. To legitimize gay marriage they would have to admit their previous acts and attitudes were mistakes. Christian leadership, above all else, avoids admitting to mistakes. That's why their entire philosophy is based on a collection of writings that are a thousand years old. New is a sin, old is always right. I am truthfully surprised that there aren't more sects that follow even more repressive forms of christianity. Now that christianity is explained lets work on the Muslim religion which has an even more violent reaction to change or dissent and homosexuality. I also notice that them more a religion is questioned the more they doubt themselves. The more they doubt themselves, the more violent their reactions. We should be thankful that the christians are so arrogant otherwise their violence would rise to Muslim levels.
  • Not me. I have nothing against gay marriage. The church is against it because their doctrines are not yet revised, and their way of thinking is based on the bible and on the laws of morality.
  • thats the way they are, believe they way they do or burn in hell lol
  • They fear gay marriage probablybecause they think there might come a miracle birth that makes Mary's look weak.
  • Because it does not restore traditional marriage!
  • because god ment for sex to be 1 pole for 1 hole, not 1 pole for 1 pole.
