I wouldn't worry too much about feeding pellets and mainly feed all your rabbits good quality timothy hay. If you want to feed pellets, make sure they are not alfalfa pellets unless they are being fed to breeding rabbits. Rabbit pellets were designed for the commercial rabbit business and it's too much calcium and too fatty for pet rabbits or rabbits just having an occasional litter. If your rabbit is a dwarf or mi i breed, 9 months old is getting mature and there isn't much you will change other than making your rabbit fat, which is a very unhealthy thing to do. Runts may never catch up with other littermates. That is why they are usually not desirable. They were born smaller, even effecting their genetics.

You should always give your rabbit unlimited timothy hay or other hays such as orchard grass, or meadow hay but alfalfa hay is fatting. Rabbit love herbs, vegetables, fruits and grass too. Parsley, basil, spinach, mixed greens, romaine lettuce (but not iceberg it causes gas that they cannot pass) can be feed. Rabbits also enjoy apples, carrots, or tomatoes as treats. I grow wheat grass for my Rabbits & Guinea pigs it's full of vitamins. But you can let it eat regular backyard grass if it’s not chemically treated and free of urine or feces by other animals. Don’t just feed your rabbit pellets alone. Try these new things in moderation along with the hay and pellets and your bunny will thrive!
