try blowing at it...see if the dust comes off. if not try using cotton swabs and just wipe them off.

Call a local appliance parts dealer and get a dryer vent cleaning kit. Looks like a bunch of tent poles you put on your cordless drill. Turn the dryer on, go outside and run the flexible poles down the vent from the outside. The dryer will blow all the lint out. The kit comes with a brush that goes on the end of the flexible poles. Good Luck! It does get messy but your dryer will dry alot faster.
