I haven't dyed mine yet but I understand that I can rince my hair with unsweetned tea and it will show me if I am going to like dyeing my hair (my hair color is the same shade of tea).

I have to dye. I started getting gray hair at 21 and know 9 years later it has not gotten better.

Shave then get a tattoo. Never dye again.

I dye my hair because I feel at 38 I am too young to have grey hair. I use Clairol Natural Instincts. I love this stuff, it is semi permanent and grows out gradually. You don't have the demarcation line you have when you go permanent. Leaves my hair soft and shiny, and gets rid of the greys. I redo it every four weeks. Plus it is cheap and there is always coupons in the paper. Start out with a lighter color though so you don't wind up with hair that is too dark. I stopped going to the salon for my hair color two years ago. It was getting way too expensive. I have people stop and ask me what salon I go to because they love the color of my hair. Give it a try.

Hair can only be cut so many ways. Dye it, but do it with purpose! If your hair is dark and you always bring pictures of haircuts to your hairdresser that are always on lighter hair people, it is because you want movement and lighter hair shows movement. Go for a few well placed highlights.....and they don't always have to be blonde. Someone with dark hair and a few lighter brown or carmel hightlights (depending on skin tone) is HOT. I know, I have been a colorist for 27 years. Trust me....dye it.

I love synthetic looking hair colors, you can't have that naturally.
