Depends on the chicken. A leaner chicken with lots of exercise might get fifteen twenty feet. Most are far to heavy for their wings and only go a few feet at best.

I do recall back in New Zealand, the first time I fed a friends chickens. I scattered out some corn and around three hundred chickens ran, fly, jumped and came pelting towards me leaving a small cloud of feathers and dust in the air. They looked like athletes as they ran, with there wings open and folded back, chests sticking out and squawking like hell.
