  • The 'pulling' is probably due to an improper alignment, &/or worn part(s); the 'shaking' is probably due to wheel/tire imbalance (esp.'ly if only at certain speeds; e.g., 45-55 mph) &/or worn part(s). An alignment should only be done by an exxperienced, competent specialist. Check with friends, etc., for a reputable alignment/'front end' specialty shop, & have it checked out. (an alignment should ck. & set: "toe, caster & camber").
  • did you have a 4 wheel alingment? and for there to be no pull at all you have to be on a flat surface, most roads are crowned (the come to a point in the middle) try finding a flat side street and try there
  • The pulling could be as simple as having different air pressures in the tires. Check them, correct them and see what happens. The difference can be significant.
  • Floaty feeling may be tire mismatch, but thats rare. Also low pressure will do it. Slipped belts in radials will cause the vibration at certain speeds where the force expands the tire out deforming the shape. but you said the tie rod was bad.
  • Jack the front of the car up. and try to shake each of the front wheels. If there is excessive lash back and forth you may have a bad wheel bearing(this applies to rear wheel drive vehciles only)
  • If you have a tendency to accelerate strongly in a front wheel drive it can pull you to the right. The right front wheel is the main drive wheel. The left only kicks in if the right slips. Therefore, since the right wheel is the only one pulling, it will pull you slightly to the right. If you accelerate slowly, you won't feel it. But if you stomp it, you will.
