Personally, I am not a fan of either of those. Come to think of it, I don't ever recall seeing either in any independent top-ten lists or having a trusted source recommend them over what I use. For my anti-spyware, I rely primarily on Spybot Search and Destroy with AdAware for backup. I let Avira handle my anti-virus needs. Sure, the pop-up on the free version is annoying, but it has the highest detection rate of any AV I've seen (better than Norton or McCaffee) and does a *damn* fine job. Both of those are free and both are recommended by some of the computer magazines I've read and knowledgeable computer people I've talked to.

I only use malwarebytes when all else fails, but usually Jerv's recommendations sort it out.

Definitely Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Malwarebytes is the top recommendation, for removing Malware etc. I am a computer expert myself, and i have never personally tried Trojan Remover, but Malwarebytes has been the best as it was rated 4.5/5.0 by the editors, look here. http://download.cnet.com/1770-20_4-0.html?query=Malwarebytes+Anti-Malware&tag=srch&searchtype=downloads&filterName=platform%3DWindows&filter=platform%3DWindows They offer a FREE version or a PAID version. If you need the PAID version, but dont want to buy it for whatever reason, email me, and i will send you a code. With that in mind every program like the two you have mentioned will have different issues, but for Malwarebytes it has been a star. You also need a good Anti-Virus, Avg is not a good Anti-Virus so if you or anybody else is using it i advise you to use Avast instead. Avast has been around for years, and has more features, no restrictions and has very good detection rates than Avg. Here is my recommendations: Avast and SuperAntiSpyware or Avast and Malwarebytes Nod32 and Malwarebytes Avg and Malwarebytes or Avg and SuperAntiSpyware And so on. If you use Torrents, PeerGuardian 2 is a good solution to keep your privacy/downloads safe. This is what you need to keep your computer safe, but you must definitely have a Anti-Virus program. 1) Anti-Virus 2) Anti-Spyware 3) A Firewall You can email me if you need anymore help or information. selwood.ryan@live.co.uk

Trojan Remover? Never heard of it. Malwarebytes? Well, it has a lot smaller database, and it's free, but it really does work when everything else fails. It's like a specific tool for removing critical objects, while others are just blind. I myself don't prefer freeware apps that much, I like professional things more.
