Help answer this question below.
It would be the most incredible treehouse at least 40 feet off the ground. It would be made of 100% wood and look like it came out of Peter Pan. It would have twisting slides to the bottom and no modern technology would be allowed in.
it would be a cylinder
8 floors but each floor a room with a elevator in the center of it to go up and down
each room/floor would circle the elevator
I would want fuzzy walls...(white fuzzy walls)...and a glass floor...like a giant fish tank under my feet, like im walkin on water. The stair would be spiral. And the furnature would be somewhat attached to the wall...LoL. I would just love fuzzy walls though. I would also design it for lots of plants...Ive always wanted a Inside outside house...where the inside blends with the outside in a way...
Money no object? Hmmmmm. Shooting range at lowest level, bowling alley on 2nd level, indoor pool and suana on 3rd level, parking garage on 4th level with cool winding ramps down to ground level, game room/ bar on 5th level with billiards, darts, foosball, pinball, etc. etc. etc., dance hall/concert hall on 6th level with stage for live band and big wrap around bar, theater room on 7th floor with IMAX size screen and seating to match, gym on 8th floor including regulation sized boxing ring, full sized basketball court on 9th floor, guest suites in 10th, 11th, and 12th floors, 'The Lincoln Room' Study/Library on 14th floor, 'The Reagan Room' formal dining on 15th floor, private living quarters with conventional house rooms on 16th floor, 17th level-retractable roof, pool, tennis courts, teeboxes, volleyball courts (one hard, one beach, slide to the "big pool" in the back yard, skeet throwers, bar, batting cages, cabana, telescope, and helipad. I think that's a good start. You did say you are paying all expenses for life of home, right? If construction costs only I will take a small 3br/2b ranch on a cul-de-sac. That'll work too.
If money were no object, I would build a simple, heavily insulated two to three story house of tilt up concrete. It would probably have a poured concrete roof. It would have working metal shutters and would be as nearly tornado proof as I could make it. It would have solar panels on the roof. I would not go to the trouble to make it an "off-grid" house, but I would want it to make the meter spin backward on sunny days. It would have radiant floor heating and I might see if it would work to pump cold water through the floor on hot days, to keep it cooler without air conditioning. I would probably use real plaster on the inside, but I would probably splurge on some lovely real-wood trim inside. I would probably splurge on built-in wardrobes, rather than walk-in closets. I'm not big on a lot of technology in a house, I'd just want it to be solid enough that my great-great grandchildren could live in it.
I would build a log cabin. It would have a great view off the side of a mountain. Inside would have a bowling ally, poker room, pool room, pool, sauna, a small waterfall over some rocks, and a dungeon in case anyone gets out of control.
