When you upload a new avatar and it says it accepts GIF (I believe under 64 x 64), why do the GIF not animate? Are only stills accepted?

it HAS TO BE 64 x 64. and it unfortunately only animates for you when you're looking at your public profile.

Yes , we used to have Animated Avatars and their really were some very cute ones. The problem is that the animated avatars take up too much space and slows down the site almost to a standstill. The glitches that we have at the moment are enough with the Animated avatars we really would never get out of the starting gates.
