Yes, it's bulemia in a mild form. Stomach acid coming up through the esophagus can do damage and it's not good for the teeth either. She can survive overeating as long as she doesn't do it too often.

Tell her parents so they can get her help.

Making yourself be sick to get up ANY food, too much or not, is Bulimic. Tell her to get a grip, there are people who are starving that much they would eat the food she threw up.

Criteria for bulimia is apparently binging & purging twice a week or more for 3 months. If your friend does that then yes, she has bulimia. If she does it less than that then she would meet the criteria for ED-NOS which is still as serious & requires treatment. I think you should tell her parents - she is your friend & keeping this a secret will only make her problem worse.

Yes she is. Anyone who throws back up their food for ANY reason is bulemic. As stated already.

Why is everyone always so quick to jump to their medical books? I've had to make myself throw up once or twice after eating only for the simple fact that I seriously had a stomach ache. I don't know If what I had was spoiled or If my stomach was just way too full, but not everyone has to be bulimic. I actually HATE! throwing up. So, what does your medical book say about that? If she does it often and it's the same story every time, then yes I'd say admit her.

Yes. The statement in this sentance that tells me difinitavly that she is bulemic is "she says she only makes herself sick when she knows she has eaten too much." That statement tells me A.This is not something she has only done once or twice (she only does it when...sugggest plural) B.The fact that she willingly admits to making herself sick, while making excuses for the behaviour, a classic sign of bulemia C.The words "knows she's eaten too much" suggest that she feel guilt over the ammount that she has eaten. You are right to be concerned, just note that bulemia is rarely only about weight, it is usually a symptom of underlying issues with control, self loathing, and self abuse. Use caution in treating the situation. I recommend this site, it helped me www.remudaranch.com/. Goodluck.

Yeah, it's a sad world that people harm themselves to keep their " perfect " look and isn't 140lbs a bit heavy or is it just me, cause I weigh 160lbs.
-
Definitely bulimic, even if it hasn't reached the life-threatening stage yet.
