I suppose to buy direct from the grower, and you should be able to get addresses and contact details from the internet or from your local telephone directory.

I second the recommendation for mountainroseherbs.com - if you don't have a local grower that you can trust, your best bet is a reputable online source, and they're great. Their products are high quality and the prices are totally reasonable. I have only a small number of companies that I recommend regularly, and that's one of them.

As far as stores, I like Earth Fair, though I think it's only a Southern US sort of chain. As far as online: http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/; http://www.botanical.com/ seems pretty reliable as well.
