  • yes, it causes some problems but give many solutions too!
  • Religion does not cause problems, people do.
  • If its allowed to yes but so can money, culture etc
  • Religion is a special category of big business. They make promises they can't keep (eternal bliss with Jebus), and they get tax-exempt status from the IRS. The problems arise when religious beliefs collide and the congregations resolve their differences with AK-47s.
  • I don't think it just causes problems, there are some positive aspects to it as well. The question is does one outweigh the other. . Maybe the way to look at it is to consider whether we would be better off as a species if we woke up tomorrow to find that there was no religion at all. . As an atheist I'm tempted to say yes but in truth I can't say that. The fact is that the human race as a whole just isn't mature enough to be able to get by without religion yet. Millions of people do of course but for every one of them there are many many more that need some kind of emotional spiritual support mechanism, even if it is imaginary. . You've only got to look at some of the Christian fundies that post regularly in the AB religious sections to see that. Their lives revolve around this 2000 year old myth and they clearly would be devastated if they didn't have it. . Also for us fairly well off and comfortable westerners with a fairly stable society to have no religion might not seem impossible to live with. But for poorer people in less well developed countries who have a pretty crappy life religion is the one thing they have got. It gives them some kind of hope and it's relatively cheap to have. . I would hope that this is not the situation though in say 100 years time. By this point there should really be no excuse for living in a fantasy.
  • It's interesting to correlate how religion that propagates itself by claiming itself to be the One True Faith also leads to problems. You don't see a whole lot of militant Buddhists and Taoists out there trying to save people from themselves through the barrel of a gun...

To sort out the religions, it is only necessary to see WHICH one is being obedient to the scriptures... Matthew 28: 19,20...and USING God's NAME....Jehovah.. The term " God / god " is a title and not a personal name.
  • Religion will send you straight to hell! It is only through the blood of Jesus that you can truly be saved. Religions do pose problems, look at the trouble we have now with some Muslims. When religion runs rampant if it is a destructive form of religion, all it can or will do is cause problems. However if the religion is of love, hope and peace as Jesus spoke of then it will not have the same affect.

straight off, there is NO place of ongoing punishment that some call ' hell'...At death we aree conscious of nothing and there is no action at all once dead...We cease to exist... But we remain in Jehovah's memory...and it is from this we can be resurrected... (Revelation 20:12, 13) And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and scrolls were opened. But another scroll was opened; it is the scroll of life. The dead were judged out of those things written in the scrolls according to their deeds. 13?And the sea gave up the dead in it, and death and the Grave gave up the dead in them, and they were judged individually according to their deeds.
  • Only if YOU let it!
  • UHG!!! yes! ...but not God.
  • Not only problems but also ideas on afterlife(if there is) lol
  • For some...many, perhaps. But for me it never has. For me, my Faith is personal, and it has helped me solve many problems. +5
  • People cause problems.
  • Often it reduces new member's social worth to that of a project or target.
  • Yes, It's called and call selfish, because people who created religion are very selfish. When humans are born on this earth, no one knows religion, who are they?, where they come from?, what religion means?, nothing. Some crazy people created religion to get jealousy, fight each other and show Partiality on each others. Yes, it causes lots of problems. I seen, especially in work place, some schools and other places, They put a big sign on the wall, says people shall adhere to all laws and regulations that provide equal opportunity for all Americans regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, or handicap. I didn't understand that what that mean to them?, Some people even don't care about it?. Especially the colors and countries people. Some say that God is one, but people are naming on God in different ways and worship in different ways. Then why they show partlalize? on others and why treat others in mean way?. Is god told them to treat in that way?, no, it's all about the people, who created religion to be a selfish. I seen in some countries, people how they act?, if you not in their color or religion?. Religion people are gather together and commenting on others and the way they act, behave, look, treat, talk everything is very different then the regular people do. Regular people who doesn't know anything about religions, races, colors. I have been through it, at work place they treat different people in different ways and mean ways, means show partlalize on colors and religions, Prejudice or bias on people. There are different type of religion people are there? some, they don't ask religion, when it comes to the money, some, they don't care about the religion when they want to have sex with strange people, Do you know what type of religion people are they?
  • As an atheist, I find it a bit odd that I feel it necessary to step in and defend religion so often on AB. Religion does cause problems at times--we in the west wouldn't disagree that religion led to the events on 9-11 or can lead to bombings of churches, medical clinics, teaching of religious beliefs in place of science and fleecing of others to build mega-churches among other things. You might say that those who believe that their god(s) tell them personally to interfere with others in his name are the problem. But religion doesn't just cause problems. For some people belief in god(s) provides the hope necessary for them to have meaning in their lives. It has systems of welfare and education, it gives some people a reason to be moral or to act humanely. Many people dedicate their entire lives to helping other people based on their religious faith--so no, religion doesn't just cause problems, but it can.
  • Religion sure doesn't cause unity. Jesus said He did not come to bring peace, but a sword. (Matthew 10:34) The sword is symbolic in the sense that all religions and non-religious do not agree with each other. It gets to the point were conflict occurs. That's why you hear of "persecution." This happens when we accept Jesus’ message of the Good News. Identifying with the Kingdom of God involves abandoning old values and priorities, and it often replaces old belief systems and old ways of seeing the world. John 15:19 "If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you."
  • Religion doesn't do anything to anyone. People do.
  • Nope. that's like saying "police just cause problems"
  • The multiplicity of religions DOES cause problems...If we all followed the ONE TRUE RELIGION, there would be no problems...

Good answer. It is prophesied in the Bible that a one world government will reign all nations. (Revelation 13:7) A must watch YouTube video to see how the NWO has been in the making: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DtEcZ3cfg4
  • Religion is the answer for some and pointless for others. Depends on your outlook on life. In my opinion, neither are wrong.
