  • I seldom mention it, but I'll make an exception for you, and point out that the word is spelled "grammar".
  • I think it helps them because they may have not re-read it. Some people don't relize they have bad grammar until they post it. It's nothing to be ashamed of.
  • You could go through their questions and see if it was a typo, but if its fluent let them know. They might be acting foreignish stupid, or just a bit of gramatical problem. Letting them know, will help and they'll understand your point.
  • it is the same on yahoo..where most have terrible grammer..and many have tried to correct them by giving advice..only to irritate the asker..and some have even resorted to "troll" them..i used to do it too, till i started getting harassing emails..
  • I am so used to seeing it at this point that I ignore it. The grammar and spelling issue is a constant source of irritation for a lot of users. I would be happier if the ur, u, ru, and other text message "words" were banned.
  • Its just when people are rude about it is when it makes fun of them. If its nicely written like hey you might have created a typo or left something out its fine, but half of the time its said so that the person is made to feel like a complete idiot. People have enough stress in their lives why should you have to worry about it on AB.
  • I would be glad to have someone point out my grammatical errors and/or spelling errors. Please feel free to correct, advise, make fun of, all you want. There will be no extra charge.
  • Oh, Ah jest lets them go...
  • who cares.grammar isnt important to me.
  • I used to point it out to people and suggest that they double check. I tried being nice about it, but after several of them getting very defensive and aggressive about my comments, I just make fun of them now. Only for really bad ones though. Misspelling a word now and then is normal. But some of these are barely legible.
  • it is very hard, lots of different countries and languages. we are trying to write all in the same language, but we all have been taught differently.
  • This sums it up...
  • It's all about how you do it, 'some' people just respond to questions with poor grammar by correcting it, and that's it... Often they don't phrase it in a very tactful way either... The right way IMO is to ANSWER THEIR QUESTION first, rofl... then at the bottom go "Also, just for the future, the correct grammar is: ______", or something like that rather than the usual "Use a damn comma in future" or "Use Fullstops" <- both of them can help people improve their grammar, but neither of them answer the question (and are thus useless answers), and neither of them are polite : P And it's just grammar anyway - it's useless in online conversation : / Is this sentence 'really' that much easier to read than the one below? I think theres no difference between punctuated and non punctuated at least for the more intelligent among us : P
  • My intention is to help them but often times they get all bent out of shape instead of using that opportunity to make themselves better.
  • If pride gives us pause about our own mistakes, then it's time to stop posting questions. However, one should not feel a need to insult the person posing the question if one understood the question to begin with. Just answer it and be on thy merry way :).
