Declawing cats is barbaric, and is illegal in my country. The cat has had not only its claws removed, but parts of its toes. Not surprising that she is feeling unhappy. Please don't have any more cats declawed; if your furniture is more important than the well-being of your cat, then buy a stuffed one instead.
Our cat and our daughter's cat had their claws removed over six years ago and they both still lift and shake their paws. The vet told us that there wasn't anything to worry about; that they are in no pain or misery. Hope this helps.
i'm sure she is trying to make her claws come out manually. like heyyy where are they:0
The vet probably thought there was some swelling somewhere so prescribed some prednisone to decrease her discomfort. She was probably still sensitive where she was declawed, or just felt weird in her paw. She has a lot less grip now on certain surfaces and normally she'd extend her claw just a little to help with grip. She's probably just a little frustrated now because walking seems so different.
Often people think declawing a cat is similar to us trimming our nails. It's not quite so, declawing a cat involves the amputation of each last bone where the claw grows, or in a tendonectomy where her tendons that control the extension and retraction of her paws are severed.
Maybe one thing you might be able to do is change the surface that she walks on to one with more friction. I know... it's impossible to increase friction on all surfaces in your house, but maybe just an area where she usually sleeps or around her litterbox.

You're reading I had my female cat spayed and declawed about 6 weeks ago. She is lifting and shaking one paw. I took her back to the vet. Everything appears healed but they prescribed prednisone for 10 days. After 7 days she still lifts and shakes her paw. What to do?
