What is a good ,inexpensive masking material to use for sandblasting?

Depends on the size of the area, bu masking tape or contact paper works well in some applications.

If your looking for inexpensive, then contact paper is probably the cheapest. If you are using contact paper though, you will need to be more cautious like have a low pressure and/or use finer sandblasting grit. This is one thing that people forget to mention is that with finer grit, then you can use a thinner masking material. Are you using it to sandblast glass? I do this quite a bit at http://www.glassetchingsecrets.com . Another idea is to double the thinner masking material up. There's always that way too. Well I hope this helps.
