people think i'm a hippy! I would say a hippie/hippy is someone who is sensitive, in touch with nature, creative, loving, perhaps away with the fairies a little bit. Less worried about what others think of them, more considerate of the environment.

people think i'm a hippie too -- so here are some possible traits -- free thinker, indie music lover, willing to try new things, open minded, into nature, not into organized religion, likes artsy things, kind, vegetarian, pro-peace, health food, no ties, yoga, juggler/circus arts, into books & live theatre, hybrid cars, funky bumper stickers, camping, etc. --- anyone who is into these kinds of things.

A non-conformist who displays there non-conformity in a rather stereotypical lifestyle. A person with all the same feeling as the rest of us, but happier on the outside of society- at the fringe- than committed to the grind of traditional living. A person who tries to maintain some modicum of choice, free will and social responsibility.

I hippie was a representation of a culture ,mostly in the 1960's..At that time young people were looking for solutions to the problems of that era.I believe they found most of the solutions. They were more active in events that were instrumental in helping mankind push the boundaries .They had ideals, confronted conventionality, and wanted freedom of thought. They knew that the status quo ,was not the answer, and that there was many sides to an issue. Sadly they became yuppies.

I've always thought of myself as a bit of a hippie. I am very much pro-peace and I've just posted an interview with two people who believe that we can have world peace with 5 years. Take a look at www.avisionofnow.com/?cat=5 Can you be a hippie and live in a big city? I suppose you could call me an urban hippie. I like that! I think a hippie is someone who is open minded, loving, loves who they are, cares about their environment, doesn't conform to other people's ideas of who they think they should be. Hey, I must be a hippie, I'm going to Glastonbury! Our kids think we are really cool parents. Although I have to say my son does get a bit worried about me picking him up fro school in a bright pink VW Campervan which is something I am attracting at the moment. Love and Peace. Cathy
