first if you don't have a title it is not your car
and you are responsible to secure these papers
they can go through them and remove them from the car, and give them back to you or just throw them away after x amount of time
if anything bad happens to ur clients because of medical info being stolen or leaked you are responsible also, because you shouldn't have left sensitive medical documents is a car
It is YOUR responsibility to secure such forms with personal information on them. You had to have known that your car was up for repo. Call the company that repossessed your vehicle and ask them how to retrieve your personal belongings. Some companies remove personal items from the vehicle and bag them; some do not touch the contents of the car.
As far as I know you are allowed to retrieve personal belongings, but the details vary form place to place. You can start by asking the local police what your options are. They aren’t allowed to give legal advice but they can probably point you in the right direction

You're reading My car was repossessed last week with some medical forms in it from work. I'm a massage therapist and do some at home massages. I left the paperwork in my car and then woke up to my car gone. Can the bank legally go through my car without violating hipaa?
