yes Assistant Captain, & there's usually 2 of them (or is it 3? you know, NO one REALLY understands the rules of hockey, we just watch it anyway)

Teams may designate 2 A's and 1 'C' to be displayed during a game. Sometimes, a team may choose not to have a player wearing a 'C' so they are allowed to have 3 players dressed during a game with an 'A' on their jersey. Only players with a 'C' or 'A' are permitted to appeal to referees regarding penalties or any other issue.
