My best friend says that my boyfriend is using me and that he doesnt really love me but weve been dating 4 months and he always say how he loves me so much and treat me so good i dont know why she keeps telling me these things when she knows they upset me

    Maybe she sees something in him you don't. The closer you are to someone the harder it is to see them objectively.

    There is no way to know if these feelings being expressed come from a legitimate place.

    People who love you tell you the truth even if you don't like it.

    Or again it could be jealousy. Has your friend given any reason they may be untrustworthy?

    She may have any number of good reasons, or bogus reasons for acting like this. Maybe she feels threatened and is afraid he will take up too much of your time. Maybe she is into women and into you, and hopes one day she can win you over. Maybe she just doesn't like your guy. Maybe he reminds her of somebody who was a bad person in her life. Maybe she is jealous that you found a great guy and she hasn't. Maybe she just thinks he is not good enough for you, and that you should be able to do better. Who knows. But the one thing you have to learn if you are ever to be happy, and that is it is OK to listen to your friends, but you cannot let them run your life. In other words, if they throw up the caution flag, take a step back and look to see if they had a legit reason for doing so. If not, then ignore them. Tell them to back off. Seriously, YOU will have to set the ground rules here. You will have to make them understand that if they continue they are going to ruin your friendship. Tell them that you appreciate their concern, but that if they are truly your friend, they will support you, and that you are human, and if it is a mistake, just be there for you.
