I'm not concerned in the least.

I have no concerns, as there is no atheist belief system. If by belief system you mean lacking a belief -- a familiar analogy being that not collecting stamps can be a hobby -- then my concern is that it is not happening fast enough. The sooner we stop believing in things that have no evidence, the better we as a species will do. At the very least, we would do well to abandon the evils of our religions and focus solely on those parts of our faiths that encourage good will toward all human beings. It seems obvious to me that the more someone claims to "know" the intentions, history, attributes, and desires of god, the more dangerous that person becomes to the rest of us.

it just means more people going to hell. the Bible says hell is enlarging itself so it will hold all the ignorants that reject Jesus Christ as their Savior.

Well atheism isn't a belief system. It's the answer (no) to the question, "Do you believe in god(s)?" As far as I can tell the more atheists we have, where people have chosen to be atheists (not forced such as in many communist countries), the better the society and country is. Edit, sorry to repeat a bit, but added in answer to the comments below: Atheism is simply answering “No” to the question, “Do you believe in god(s)?” Any other answer and you are not an atheist. Any other question and it’s not covered by atheism. If you've read many of my answers on AB, you know that I'm uncomfortable when atheism is defined as a belief system. I think that most atheists who have thought through what atheism means would agree with me. There is a difference between not believing and believing that something isn't so. I do not believe that something is true if I don't think that there is good evidence to support it. On the other hand just because there is a lack of good evidence does not mean that I believe something isn't true. I choose to believe based on good evidence rather than the lack of evidence. Faith is choosing to believe despite the lack of good evidence and sometimes to continue to believe contrary to good evidence. Were I to be asked would I as an atheist choose to act on faith in light of good evidence for god(s) and my answer would be no. Faith is the antithesis of how I believe.

The biggest and most persistent concern for churches is the decreasing amount of revenue donated to them.

Honestly, I have no idea what an atheist belief system is. Most atheists have as much in common as atheists and believers except for not believing in God. There are no common rules, beliefs or rituals. I have christian, hindu and jewish friends that I have more in common with than my atheist friends. Considering that atheists could double their numbers and still not pose a significant threat to the overwhelming dominance of Christianity in you society, it's much ado about nothing anyway. White people have not blown up because of the rise in the population of minorities in this country, so i doubt the country implodes if there are a few less people in the seats on sunday.

Probably similar to the concerns I had myself when I finally came to lack belief in any god. Religion has for a long time provided much in the way of guidance, hope, companionship and so on. It has also provided judgementalism, friction, mistrust and division - but no-one would miss those! So, my question to myself was "what do I replace my religion with?". Traditions, rituals and so on are comforting. The community gives a sense of belonging. When I left the church I lost these and really missed them. I have since grown my own traditions, learned how to appreciate my life and nature and people and so on without resorting to a big godd-y thing and found other groups to belong to - but I think the same sort of thing would happen at a group/societal level - where we cannot unlearn what we have learned, cannot go backward but are not 100% sure of how to go forward...

A rise in rational thought unencumbered by superstition and mythology.

none. atheists should work together in a mixed culture better than religious fanatics. I'll take agnostic though (atheist with an out)
-
concerns about what? its kind of a dumb question. its like asking " what r your concerns about not eating spoiled food?".

There is no such thing as an "atheist belief system". Not sure why you capitalize atheist, since it is not a proper name. Is it an act of faith for you to not believe in the tooth fairy? As a non-tooth-fairy-believer, do you have something, anything, else in common with the others of your kind? Except for the need of tooth-fairy-believers to lump you into a group because they are so insecure about the world being overrun by non-tooth-fairy-believers that they need to create a strawman enemy? Atheists have as much in common as non-bowlers.

Many of our Founding Fathers believed that America couldn't be America without belief in God. I don't know that I would go that far but I worry that in the future we will be far more selfish than we already are. Because I was a Christian I have an ethical system (modified of course) as a sort of habit. It's not that so-called Secular Humanism is such a bad thing, but it's not a well-defined ethos nor is just, 'being a good citizen' very compelling. Additionally, teachers are pretty arbitrary with rules and what 'fair' really means. This is not a plea for 'that old time religion'. But we need some kind of system.

first of all of the athiest were giving plus ratings and all the Christians negative.... does that tell you anything. and also i thought the whole thing about being atheist was not to believe in something?? what is it then that atheist believe in is it what other people tell them "scientist" is it what they are told or taught? we need to understand the fundamentals of an atheist core belief system to even begin to understand what they like what they disagree with and all. and if its anything like they show here on ab then kiss freedom of speech goodbye... lol im ready for the downrating

First, a voice to the chorus, Atheism isn't a belief system. - Secondly, to answer what I hope was the spirit of the question, I have no concern. I see no negatives to dropping outdated superstitions and mythology.

We Atheists have no concerns. The more the merrier

I'd say there is little difference in the "major problems" in the world & society at large between an Atheist and a theist. So if the whole world was to go Atheist tomorrow most of what we consider problems would still be with us - and vice versa if everyone turned theist. Relitively trivial problems like Gay Marrage & abortions whould end in either case....The so called "moral issues" we have in western society would have soloutions - one way or another. The big things affect us all reguardless of what religious ideology we hold. And as the world reaches critical mass in population these problems will grow as well. Anyway - people for the most part still think and act people reguardless of their religion or lack of religion...so the difference is pretty much a moot point at best.

NO concerns, about time people come to their senses
