there is no strict age. some people are quite capable at 16 ( I have a friend who had no choice- both parents had new partners and didn't want her around), although others are not ready until their mid 20s. But the longer you stay after that, the easier it becomes to rely on others and not step out on your own.

Somewhere in the 20's is good. You have lived a bit and hopefully have taken on some responsibility and can hold your own in the world.

Whenever you can afford it. Nothing is as maturing as paying bills. Relying on your parents may be inevitable in times of crisis, but independence requires financial stability.

I think it all depends on the person's level of maturity. My sister is 24 and still can't handle her daily affairs on her own. My hisband was on his own at 16 and did fine.

When you can afford to pay your own bills and be responsable enogh to not get into debtor any other kind of trouble
