In the game SCRABBLE, words that require capitalization can't be used in gameplay. So, why are all the letter pieces capitalized?

Can you seriously not do that? I never knew that! All this time I've been cheating! But that is kind of retarded to make all the letters capital with that rule in play!

it's not words with capitals in them, its proper nouns. The tiles are capital because it looks better than all lowercase. It's also much easier to differentiate quickly.

The pieces are in CAPS probably for uniformity. If you look at capital letters verses small letters there is less variation from letter to letter. LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THIS FONT AND YOU MIGHT UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM SAYING verse the previous sentence. There are more dips in small letters. Its just a stab at the question... who knows why they really have all the game pieces in CAPS... LOL
