Voodoo, hoodoo, voudoo, and Voudoun are all spellings for the same thing: a variant of the original religion of the Africans (mostly Yorubans) kidnapped and brought to the U.S. and Haiti and other Caribbean islands for the slave trade. As an atheist, it is my personal belief that none of them work at all except to comfort the people saying them, or paying to have them said. You will have to decide for yourself if you think prayers & spells "work" for you. As to stealing your money, anyone can CLAIM to be a voodoo priestess -- you can, if you want to -- and anyone can CHARGE for being a priestess -- you can, if you want to -- and that should tell you something about whether you are getting your money's worth.

Voodoo, Vodoun, Voudoun, etc. are, properly, some names given to the pre-Christian religions of western Africa. More usually these days the term is used to designate three different things: 1. The religion as it is practiced in some places in Africa (it's the official religion of Benin, for example). 2. The religion as it came to be practiced by slaves and their descendants (and others) in the "New World" (primarily in locations held by the French) where it became syncretized, or intermixed, with Roman Catholicism. In Spanish speaking areas the same practice is usually called "Santeria." 3. A so-called folk magic that is practiced by some, whether in the religion or not.

voodoo is just like any other magic done in two ways one (hoax) simple false magic. two the abilities are done throught (spirits) demons who do the said want, ex. if you have something wrong with you they simply pass through you just as you could pass through a 2D person (pacman) and take out whatever ales them without breaking the skin. or if you want someone to fall in love with you, you tell it to go and make that person fall in love, so it (the demon)simply goes over and continually says, "you know you like Bob, Bob just has what you want, hes awesome in his own special way, he likes you and you know you like him, why dont you go and talk to Bob." and after this goes on for a day, days, weeks, months, and depending on how ugly Bob is YEARS. but finally the person gives into the subliminal messaging and says, mabey I do like Bob. thus the demon gets the sacrafice and followers that he wants (Bob now belives and will tell everyone he knows thus that demon or another demon will gain new followers and pass on their crap) the voodoo priest will gain oohhss and aahhhss and will gain more followers and money or whatever he desires. thus how Voodoo works.+2
