  • because people consider Easter a special occasion and people tend to go an extra step for special occasions. Yes, to some church is always a special occasion, but then again, for some getting up every day is too. Funny thing is that i doubt anyone got dressed up to see Jesus. One of the things I hated about my church when growing up was the stigma put on people who did not feel the need to put on a fashion show.

  • I asked the same question to a person this morning. I was talking about the little girls getting new frilly dresses and the tights and shoes. I mean a "KODAK" moment and other days you can't get a comb through their hair. Why this? Why now? Shouldn't you do your best everyday to look your best? I don't get it. +5

  • Years ago Easter Sunday was the offical start of Spring which also meant new Spring clothing. Everyone got all spiffed up in their new clothes to go to church Easter morning. Easter is a special day for those who believe so they choose to show their respect by taking a little effort with their appearance. It's nice to know some of those traditions remain.
