Read the Second Treatise of the Great Seth, found in the Dead Sea Scrolls. It states a man named Simon was drugged and died instead. Jesus walked away from it cause he knew the prophecy was a farce. Interesting thing is that Jane Roberts channeled an entity named Seth who stated the same thing. Anyone who has studied the historical Jesus believes he died of old age.

A series of unfortunate sustained events in a persons life.

Reason may not be as important as the cause... This scripture would give a "hint". One cannot come to Christ unless he is "drawn" (interpret this word any way you like) by the Father (God). John 6:44 (King James Version) "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day." Practical interpretation of above scripture may mean, that those that do not believe in Christ are either dead still – or dead already. (Spiritually speaking). Every human alive, has or will be "presented" with the "truth" in a way they understand it, to which they must give an answer. After which, their life will define their answer through their lifestyle, and the grave will honer it... In Christ..

Because the only people that have been resurrected were not dead in the first place

Lack of eye witness accounts. . Matthew, Mark and Luke say that none of the disciples witnessed the crucifixion of Jesus. The gospel of John suggests that John may have been there but doesn't state it absolutely. . So none of the disciples (except possibly John) saw both Jesus' death and the resurrected Jesus. . None of the gospel accounts were written by eye witnesses to either the crucifixion or the resurrection and they all differ as to what the actions of the resurrected Jesus actually were. . The evidence just isn't very good - it doesn't mean that it absolutely definitely didn't happen, but for an extraordinary claim like this you would need extraordinary evidence and the evidence we have is in fact, actually less than ordinary.

That a man named Jesus who purportedly lived and died 2000 years ago and then rose from the dead is an extraordinary claim. The only evidence we have is based on hearsay written down by people who never met him and who were trying to get people to join their religion. It's not one bit more believable to me than Scientology's claim that humans are immortal beings called thetans trapped in meat bodies. In order to accept Jesus or Scientology one must do so based on hearsay and faith. I reject hearsay and faith as good evidence for proof of extraordinary claims and therefore do not believe in the supernatural claims made for Jesus by his followers.

Because he never existed in the first place.

Common sense and education. Clearly Christendom lacks both.

I regard it as indeterminate. Aside from that, your question is a logical fallacy. One who does not hold a belief in something for which there is no evidence has no burden of proof upon them.

LOL...you have missed the mark again...i didn't ask anyone to prove anything, I asked for their reason...if there reason is that they believe there is no proof, then that is the reason but that is only their belief...beliefs aren't facts unless supported...if they believe the documents which reference the Resurrection are false/incorrect/fake, this is based on what...i'll accept if they don't believe the documents to be real.
