Excellent question! Surprisingly, I don't believe there is any other name. I've been playing music for 45 years, and I never heard it called anything else!
On a keyboard or piano, it might be called a music shelf or rack; marching band instruments use a clip device called a "lyre," the elaborate folding music stands used by dance bands and jazz ensembles are sometimes called "dance band stands." Book stands, lecterns and podiums are sometimes used as music stands. A "band stand," however, is the risers that bands set up on.
a "stand" ? I've never heard it being called anything else.
