I'd sent out a bunch of those planes that can land on water to monitor the effected area. Also all ships who travel those waters should be required to hire armed guards for their ships.

Change international law to allow regular merchant ships to be able to carry stuff like light body armor, tasers, tear gas.

I think economics may take care of this -- if the losses of cargo are severe enough, shipping companies will start hiring mercenary escorts through the dangerous parts of the area.

The only thing i can think of is to put an armed escort to acompany any ship passing through that area.

I would say that, if you decide to be a pirate, you would be subject to summary execution if you do not have both a parrot and an eyepatch. If you don't have those things, then you clearly have no respect for tradition, and have no call upon our sympathies.

Make agreements with countries and ports of call that you will be armed. If they want the tourist business they will agree, if not, they lose a huge revenue stream. Money talks. Then mount a 50 cal on the stern, bow, port and starboard of the ship and blow the bastards out of the water. End of story.

Hire armed guards for protection of these vessels they need to be protected for the sake of the shipping of goods, and I think it is up to the owners to protect the crew on board these ships as well as the cargo.shoot the bastards. that's what should be done.

They need to deploy bait ships that are disguised as freight ships but are heavily armed, once they make the mistake of attacking this vessel and losing their lives then from that point on they will be unsure about who they are attacking.
