If you trust your ability to put the key *back on,* you can pop it off (get something flat like a screwdriver or butterknife under it) and clean underneath it. That's always been the problem with my keys. >.>

IF you attempt to fix it your self and damage the key (which is fairly easy) then it won't be covered by the warranty any more and you'll have to pay to get it repaired then. Take it back.
