  • Wow - are you Dr House?!!!! Awesome! In seriousness tho, i have no idea. But Dr House always drinks and he takes about 50 vokodin a day....!!!!!!! hahahah!
  • Is that following the directions the doctor gave you, or are you taking more than what was prescribed? What kind of injury is it for? And yes, you should never mix alcohol with narcotics. First, if you are new to the use of narcotics, you should take only what is absolutely necessary for you to get relief (the bare minimum). I know that it is entirely possible that "8 a day" is still not enough. But, take it from a pro, this is a road you want to avoid, if that is at all possible. I don't think 2 days worth will harm you, but you really should cut down on the amount, and try other forms of relief, as well as the narcotics. Ice, heat, Advil, Aleve, ... try everything (if you haven't already). Did the doctor also prescribe "muscle relaxers"? They may even help ... but you don't want to mix alcohol with those either. You really should cut back on the amount (if at all possible), and ask your doctor, on your next visit, if 8 a day is alright, or if he may want to give you a stronger level of Vicodin. As with ANY narcotic, you should ALWAYS use the least amount possible to achieve some relief, and hopefully you will improve soon. But, for just 2 days of usage, you should be okay (with very small side effects, if any). But, you should not go much longer, taking that many a day, unless you just had a major surgery, or something similar. DO cut back on the amount you are taking immediately, if at all possible. Pain medications effect every person differently, and only your doctor knows for sure, exactly how much you should be taking. If you are really concerned about the amount you are taking, don't wait until your next doctor visit, call him and ask.
