  • Call child protective services and ask for their help. Parents are not allowed to do this.
  • work as what? and r u out of school?
  • call for help. relatives and/or child services
  • It's about time you started earning your keep and learning some responsibility.
  • Punch them in the face lol. Idk sounds good to me.
  • Depends on what you consider to be work. Is it working in the family business? Consider it an opportunity to a) learn everything you can about a business you may inherit OR b) something to put on a resume later in life to get a job and get the heck out of the house Is it chores? Think of it as training for adult life. OR Ask lots of annoying questions and make it easier for them to do it themselves. (I have found this affective if they aren't patient. If they are patient, you may have to break something by "accident"). Is this preventing you from going to school? Does it put you in danger? Then definitely call for help.
  • Did they remove you from school? Define work all day.
  • "Free?" Do you have: 1. A roof over your head? 2. Clothes on your back? 3. Food in your belly? 4. "Extras" that are NOT part of the necessities of life? If you answered, "YES" to any of the above, then chances are--you are not "working for free!" As a youth, you will NOT understand everything your parents may say or do, but rest assured the INTENTIONS of most loving parents are raise their children to become law-abiding, self-reliant, self-disciplined, productive members of society. If you CANNOT abide by the "petty" laws of the household--you will without a doubt be unable to abide by the laws of society!!! So, suck it up--and deal with it. Trust me, it WON'T be going on forever!!! Good luck!
  • If this is above and beyond typical strict harsh parents call child services.
  • Define work all day, by that do you mean make you do odd jobs around the house to help out? you are still a kid and you need to learn responsibility and discipline. Do your chores and shut up
  • so you have to do your chores and you dont like it?
  • I went through the same thing, they hired a maid to replace me when I left for brading school! What you got to do get a job. You'll get money, and you probably won't have time to do their chores, if you still go to school and stuff.
  • In many cultures the main purpose for reproduction is need for free labor (i.e. farms, etc.). So what you're saying is that you never did much in the way of chores, duties, responsibilities until now? So they are preventing you from sleeping under their roof, eating their food, going to school and you are toiling 24/7? How do you find the time to AB? Why do I find your situation (as stated) hard to believe?
  • So what, They are trying to teach you some responsibility. They buy you clothes and food and they put a roof over your head so CPS doesn't come and take you a way. If they wanted to when you turn 16 they can make you go get a job and not let you keep any of they money at all that you earn so I wouldn't be complaing because some parents really do that. You need to take it like a man and be thankfull for what you have.
  • Cool. You're building "character." And lol at you doing what they're telling you to do... you have free will, you know.
  • you will live.
  • that's the point to parenthood now study hard so you become a doctor and take care of your parents
  • Oh yes because giving you food, shelter, TV, and everything else us teens gets is so free. The only way I have sympathy for you if they make you work then sleep in a box and eat left overs. Other then that welcome to the real world kiddie. all your life you are basically going to be working for free once you pay, taxes, bills, and maintain a home get use to it!
  • If your parents have pulled you out of school and are making you work all day every day, call child protective agency and tell them you need help (using the telephone they have paid for and provided to you). If they have provided you with a computer, and time to use it, part of your story doesn't make sense. If they have given you clothes, food, and a place to sleep for the last 16 years, maybe they think it's time you work for these things. You can petition the family court for an emancipation decree that will allow you to get an apartment and a job on your own, if you can prove to the court that you are capable of supporting yourself.
