Uniforms are good. We had them in my boarding school.

Uniforms should be mandatory. Makes a bit more disciplined I think. Students pay more attention in the class rather than concentrating on what everyone is wearing. Plus, I think girls look better in skirts ;)

I never wore uniforms and I don't believe it affected me negatively, but I do see a need for a dress code. There is a video on youtube of a boy with lots of firearms hidden in his jeans which a vast majority would be visible if his shirt was tucked in.
