IF those who ask are not friends with the one they are asking us to congratulate, yes... They are trolling for points. If they are friends, they are (as are all those who answer them) genuinely happy to see the person make that level. The points are gravy. I'll be sure to skip your party, since you are so opposed to them. (We'll see.) As for the ones I've seen recently, there just ARE NOT that many. You should have been here a few months ago, when people were making Sage level and up almost daily. If you don't like them, ignore them. (And this argument has been going on since AB first allowed those questions to be asked. The above is my opinion, and many other long-time ABers.) As for the others, who said they are asking for points? As with ANY question on AB (INCLUDING this one, I might add), if people wish to give them points, then so be it. DO NOT try to tell me that YOU aren't expecting to make some points for THIS question. AB is made so if you don't like certain questions, you are not forced to answer them. Just ignore them as you do others you don't like or don't feel you can answer. That's the way AB works... Like it or not. Why put people down? BTW: +5

1) There are no questions directly asking for points because it is against the rules. The fact that congratulation questions usually get a lot of points is because many users are happy to be congratulated when they reach a bigger title, and other users just find it nice to participate in the party. For the other questions that you mention, they also have to respect the question form not to be flagged as nonsense. But you are right, there are a lot of those things which don't really make much sense as questions. Many users react at those questions positively because they are just funny or different from the normal questions. No one must answer those questions if they don't like. I see this as the social aspect of Answerbag: you are just giving a wink to some other users. 2) If you participate in one of those actions, you usually get some cheap points. But I don't see why all the points that we get should have to be expensive. So let us get some of those cheap points from time to time. Anyway, if you are only answering this kind of questions, I don't think that Answerbag will make you a lot of fun, in the long run.
