  • Its supposed to be one of the best cardio exercises for burning fat. If your going to swim to get in shape, go to this site http://www.swimplan.com/. It basically gives you a swimming workout. As a competitive swimmer, I definitely recommend having a plan than just going to a pool and swimming until you feel like stopping. This way, you have motivation and will know what you have to accomplish.
