  • I don't care for it. It's a texture thing. I equate it to eating a bowl of the outside hull of popped popcorn.
  • I don't know what quinoa is (sorry!), but I have to say - The United Nations has lists of food? WHY? Is this the same UN that I'm thinking of, or is this some sort of slang?
  • Oh, good! Then, let the members of the UN eat it
  • Yes, I've used quinoa like rice or couscous, in pilafs, or added to soups or some stews. I've used it for stuffing like I'd use rice. It's very nutty, nicer than millet which I really don't like. And I've used it ground up into a flour for my sis-in-law that can't eat gluten. It's nice eaten for breakfast like oatmeal or porridge.
  • Eaten, yes. Prepared, no. By itself the taste of quinoa is uninteresting, but my daughter-in-law makes a quinoa salad with some of the add-in ingredients typically found in macaroni salad (grape tomatoes, celery, onion, etc.), and it's good.
  • I'm actually making it right now. I like it as a change from rice. I also make bulgar and wheat berries to change things up.
