They extremely pleased, and hoping to get it down to at least 30% by 2020.

Isn't it interesting that they never mention this inequality, even though they claim to be for gender equality?

I would rather say that the emotion is a combination of satisfaction and elation.

Feminists would like to see the male percentage at about 10-20%, low enough so as not to be a threat to the female majority, but just still high enough for them to continue to claim that men are discriminating against them.

There are no feminists cheering on this page. Guess that blows your theory. As do the books and articles by women who are concerned that boys aren't at the same level of academic achievement as girls.

The reason that fewer men go to college is that they don't need to. It's nothing unusual for a male high school graduate to make more money than a female college graduate.

As a feminist, I'm rather displeased. I would like to see the drop-out rate at 0%, or close to it, because I want everyone to finish college. I want the enrollment of men to be about 50%, because I want everyone to go to college. Because I want equality, which is the intent of feminism.

Feminist should be very displeased that female college students are not enrolling in near enough rigorous coursework.

Hey wait a minute, the *drop out* rate has increased to 41%, that means the guys got into University, they just didn't finish.

So you can't claim it's discriminatory, if that were the case those guys would of never been admitted in the first place.

I guess you have provided empirical evidence that more and more omega males can't finish what they have started.

I am somewhat of a feminist, I guess, considering I believe that women are equal and should be able to do anything they want in life. I am not pleased at mens college rates going down, and you know what? All those men who dropped out or never went at all, made that choice. Those men are responsible for those numbers. What does it have to do with feminism? Maybe women are just more motivated these days, but either way you should be happy that some one is graduating college whether it be male or female!

I would be much more upset that the other 59% failed to graduate.....
    But seriously ...
I am not certain the feminist would like the males to lower their proportion further, perhaps we should be concentrating on quality rather than quantity.

I've wondered about this. I don't think it's an issue of them being pleased though. What would their goal be? World domination?
    .
No, my feeling is that more and more women will realize that it's tough to try and do it all on their own. Also, that number of quality male partners will decline in proportion.

I think that there is no reason to keep a women from doing what she wants and is good at - president, surgeon, soldier, whatever. But I also think the partnership of career oriented man and family oriented women simply makes sense. And given the expense of college I think we'll see those numbers equal out and maybe level off with a male majority someday.
