I would love a swimming pool because I don't go to public pools anymore but I don't want the upkeep and grief of keeping it up.

Yes.

A hot tub would be amazing, because I could enjoy it all year. Pools are really only good for a couple months in northern climates, and I would rather swim in a lake than a pool anyway. However, the hot tub would still be enjoyable in the snow, and I could use it on summer nights while star gazing since it gets chilly at night.

We have a pool and wouldn't trade it for anything. The maintenance isn't as bothersome as some seem to believe, you just shock once a week and spend a few bucks on an automated cleaner to get what the skimmer can't. We've bandied about the idea of adding a hot tub so it may happen, but we're landscaping at present.

Both with privacy fence lets you get freaky with S/O in hot tub. Pool just cuz like to swim plus it can give you good work out.

Hot tub. I am getting lazy. The hot tub would be easier to maintain.
