Do you believe that the made-up Mormon religion of Joseph Smith is any more ridiculous than all the other, older, just as made-up religions? Why?

first off, you dont know whether or not its made up. and the mormon religion doesnt worship joseph smith. he was the founder of the religion so to speak. everyone has their own beliefs on things, and to mormons, they believe in their way, just like you believe in yours, and other religions believe their ways. i say dont judge mormons just because the believe differently. its not like they worship satan. they are like most other christians basically they just have a few other standards that they go by. before you make judgements on mormons id suggest that you know your information more and maybe read the book of mormon. i dont know much about the religion but i do know that most mormons are good people. and there are all kinds of churches beings created these days, and i know every church will tell you that they are the correct church... all i can say is that at least they are tryin to live a good life.

I rated you back up...it's a legit question. I don't know about saying "ridiculous". Targeted to the incredulous might be closer to what I'd say. Not so much as a couple of famous 20th Century additions to the religious collection such as the inventions of Hubbard and the like.

I wouldn't use the word 'ridiculous' but rather delusional. All religions are 'made up' and all are delusional. There are so many delusions to choose from, and usually it is culturally, geographically decided what you mostly believe in, or parents and schools indoctrinate their kids to believe in a certain delusion. For example, when you are raised in the Middle East, you are indoctrinated to believe in the things the Koran tells you and to answer to Islam. If you are born in some parts of Ireland you may be raised to be catholic. If I had to use the word 'ridiculous' connected to a 'religion' it would be one of the cults that were made up and where the founder would have a lot of power (and money), particularly the Exclusive Brethren.
